11th ANNUAL JERSEY SHOWS BATTLE OF THE BANDS

Regional venues surrounding Starland Ballroom come together.
We are looking to sign 2 new bands.
$20,000 (2 x $10,000) ARTIST DEVELOPMENT DEAL with DANIMAL RECORDS!!
PLUS WELL OVER $5000 IN PRIZES THROUGH OUT THE COMPETITION!!
EVERY BAND THAT MAKES IT TO THE FINALS WILL RECEIVE FREE T-SHIRTS FOR THEIR BAND.

Again we are looking to sign 2 new bands to DANIMAL RECORDS!!
Each with $10,000 ARTIST DEVELOPMENT PACKAGE which includes but not limited to:
RECORDING, ONLINE DISTRIBUTION, VIRAL MARKETING,
TOURING, POSTERS, PICTURES, POSTCARDS, MERCHANDISING
Basically everything a band needs to get to the next level.

PHILLY SHOWDOWN, JERSEY SHOWDOWN, ANNUAL BOTB WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
1) PHILLY SHOWDOWN: An original music compeition for $10,000 CASH in and around the Philadelphia markets. Semi-Finals and Finals to be held at The Trocadero (mainstage).
2) JERSEY SHOWDOWN: An original music competition for $10,000 CASH in and around the central NJ markets.
Semi-Finals & Finals to be held at Starland Ballroom.
3) ANNUAL BOTB: An original music competition for Danimal Records to find the best band(s) to sign to a recording contract/Artist Development. Artist development will include: recording with producer, merchandising, photography, touring, viral marketing, day to day management, major label showcases etc

MY BAND WAS or IS IN ANOTHER COMPETITION...
CAN WE ENTER THIS COMPETITION?
YES.
We encourage bands to enter as it is a great opportunity to network and meet new bands. Also the chance to perform for new fans.

FOR THE SHOWDOWN'S IS IT REALLY $10,000 CASH?
**based on 14 bands on The Finals**
YES here is how the money is awarded
1ST PLACE: $5000
2ND PLACE: $2500
3RD PLACE: $1000
4TH PLACE: $500
10 RUNNER UPS $100

HOW DOES MY BAND ENTER?
Login in to your jerseyshows.com account and register for BOTB. Don't have an account? Go to jerseyshows.com and click on BAND REGISTRY to register your band. There are NO fees register for the battle of the bands.

IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE?
NO!!!! We have abolished the registration fee.

ARE THERE TICKET MINIMUMS?
YES, However we do keep the ticket minimums low (basically to cover production costs of the show)
1st Round 10 ticket minimum, 2nd Round 20 ticket minimum
Semi-Finals and Finals 50 ticket minimum

IS THIS COMPETITION BASED ONLY ON TICKET SELLING?
NO!
Ticket sales do make up 25% of your bands score.
The other 75% comes from judges evaluating your band.
AND, we CAP the ticket selling. Meaning we LIMIT the amount of points bands can get from ticket sales.
First round and Regional Finals 50 ticket max, Semi-Finals and Finals 100 ticket max.
Reminder, the Semi-Finals and Finals are in much larger venues.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE?
When all the spots on the First Round are filled. When the spots are gone, they are gone. There are a limited number of spots per region. Sign up early for the best available spots for your band. We are currently getting more venues to accomodate all bands.

WHEN WILL MY BAND BE SCHEDULED?
When we have confirmed the venues and dates we will contact the bands registered for the Battle of the Bands.

TYPICALLY HOW MANY BANDS ADVANCE?
FIRST ROUND: 3-4 bands advance to REGIONAL FINALS.
REGIONAL FINALS: 2-3 bands advance to SEMI-FINALS.
SEMI-FINALS: 7 BANDS advance to THE FINALS

Please only enter when ready to perform. There are only a limited number of spots per region.

FOR THE ANNUAL COMPETITION WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?
**The Annual competition is different from The Jersey Showdown / The Philly Showdown**
ARTIST DEVELOPMENT PACKAGE
recording, photography, touring,
t-shirts, stickers, vinyl banner
and much much more

WHO JUDGES?
Different music professionals, radio staff, journalists, record label, promoters etc.
The judges are different each round.

CAN WE PLAY A COVER SONG?
YES. Performing a cover song has little to no bearing on whether your band advances or not.
This is an original music competition It is suggested that you dont play any covers.
How much a cover song would affect a judge is up to that particular judge.

HOW LONG IS THE WHOLE COMPETITION?
Approximately 6 months

HOW MANY BANDS WILL COMPETE?
Approximately 150-200 bands

WHERE DO THE FINALS TAKE PLACE?
in New Jersey: STARLAND BALLROOM (Sayreville, NJ)
in Pennsylvania: THE TROCADERO (Philadelphia, PA)

HOW LONG DOES EACH BAND PERFORM?
Approximately 25-30 minutes (per show)

IS THERE ANY BACKLINE PROVIDED?
Each venue is different ~ some do, some dont.
It will be made very clear what to bring.
In most cases: Bring all your "normal" gear: drums, hardware, amps, cabinets, instruments etc.
