Rules for THE JERSEY SHOWDOWN

I agree that my band will act in a professional manner:

1) Show up at load in time 30 minutes prior to door time. At that time check in with the SHOW ADMINISTRATOR they will instruct you what to do with your gear, tickets, money etc. Return all unsold tickets, any tickets not returned are assumed sold.
2) TICKET MINIMUM: In order for your band to perform your band must be responsible for a minimum of ticket sales.
(1st round 10 tickets), (regional finals 20 tickets), (semi-finals & finals 50 ticket minimum)
**NOTE: ticket minimums are subject to change, some venues have higher production costs that would affect this.**
3) Do not perform any other shows 3 weeks prior or 3 weeks after with in a 30 minute / 30 mile radius of scheduled venue.
4) Do not sell tickets outside the club (day of show). Each ticket sold counts toward your score for that day. So if your fans buy tickets from another band they are supporting THAT BAND and not yours
(make sure your fans understand this). Again ALL tickets/money are to be turned in 30 minutes prior to door time.
5) PAYMENT: Bands that sell 25 tickets (or more) get paid $2 per ticket.
6) NO guest list provided anyone coming to the show must have a ticket or pay at the door.
7) Be respectful to staff, venue and patrons.
8) NO outside food or drink permitted.
9) NO pyrotechnics of any kind.

10) This is a competition ~ this is how JerseyShows / Danimal Records finds new bands & venues to work all year long. If your band doesnt "win" any negative correspondence will not help your case ~ it wont even get read. Please see rule # 7.

Promotion:
1) Put the OFFICIAL BOTB banner on your website/myspace. http://www.jerseyshows.com/botb/jsdbanner.gif
This banner will be updated from time to time giving you the most current news with regards to the Battle of the Bands.
2) Help promote Jersey Shows by putting banner(s) on your website/myspace etc.
3) Design your personal flyers using the official JERSEY SHOWSDOWN graphic

This is a huge Battle of the Bands
with a large $10,000 CASH prize to be awarded on the Finals like this (based on 14 band finals):
1ST PLACE: $5000, 2ND PLACE: $2500, 3RD PLACE: $1000, 4th place $500 10 RUNNER UPS $100 each.
BY VIOLATING ANY OF THESE RULES YOUR BAND RISKS DISQUALIFICATION.

Scoring
1) For every show each band will be scored 0-60 points. Only the highest scoring bands advance (normally top 3 bands)
NOTE: For The Semi-Final and Final show, bands will be scored 0-120
as the ticket minimum & number of judges increase. The increase comes from MUCH HIGHER production costs of the larger venues hosting these events.
2) Tickets sold in ADVANCE designate 25% of your score. People that pay at the door do not count toward scoring.
Advance ticket points in the earlier rounds is out of 50 tickets.
3) There will be anonymous judges scoring each of the bands on 3 categories (0-5 each)
a) AUDIO (if they had ears only)
b) VISUAL (if they had eyes only)
c) FULL PACKAGE (all their senses plus originality and songwriting)


Jersey Shows reserves the right to refuse entry to any band.
